Managing Challenging Behavior

Thursday Apr 13, 2017 at 6:30pm

Challenging or Aggressive behavior is often associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder and can be one of the most significant concerns for caregivers.  The presenter will try to help participants identify the purpose of such behaviors.  All behavior is designed to reach an outcome and challenging or aggressive behaviors are no exception.  They exist to meet a perceived need and thus have a critical function in the life of an individual with Autism.  Such behaviors cannot be extinguished until the needs are identified and met while ensuring everyone’s safety.  We will explore techniques, concepts, and provide an opportunity to share your experiences during this seminar.

Workshops are free to Autism Tennessee members; non-members pay $5 at the door. Registration is limited; reservations are requested. Childcare is available with 48 hours advance notice.
