The staff at Autism Tennessee, like many others, have spent time reflecting on the current events on our news. Rather than having internal conversations, we've decided a panel discussion would be most beneficial. Many parents have concerns about how to parent their child and address race related issues.

Within the autism community, there are even more layers to consider.

We'd like to talk about that.

Event Description: Panelists will share their experiences as persons of color and as parents of black boys who are on the autism spectrum.

Panelists include:

Tony Dillard, Law Enforcement Officer and individual on the spectrum,

Jajuan Turrentine, mom of three boys, one of whom has autism, &

Jamie Leggs, mom of two on the autism spectrum

Moderators:

Babs Tierno, Executive Director, Autism Tennessee &

Bev Fulkerson, Autism Tennessee Board of Directors, and TN Dept of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, Deputy Assistant Commissioner, Division of Substance Abuse Services
