Volunteer for the Pajama Walk & 5k

Registration

  • Assist in marking the 5k and Walk courses with cones and signage, ensuring that runners and walkers can easily navigate the route.

    Setup 2 water stations with tables, chairs, bottled water.
  • Assist 5k Runners picking up their race bibs and T-Shirts from the AutismTN office on September 20th from 4-8pm.
  • Assist in organizing the 5k runner bibs, tracking chips, and t-shirts.

    September 14th, 10am - 12pm
  • BCBAs, RBTs, DSPs, OTs Preferred. Help out with activities, keep participants engaged and moving. Assist with sensory needs.
  • Assist AutismTN Staff with check in of pre-registered runners and walkers, assist un-registered attendees, distribute swag and provide general event information.
  • Finish line volunteers will help track runners as they cross the finish line, hand out metals to all runners and walkers.
  • Volunteers will be responsible for welcoming people, directing participants to appropriate parking areas, and guiding them to the event, exhibitor, and activity areas. Volunteers will also help keep registration lines moving and confirm participants complete all appropriate liability forms. These volunteers will also answer questions or concerns as needed.
  • Help ensure that participants have an enjoyable experience by providing First Aid/CPR if needed
  • Help volunteers, exhibitors, and participants park their vehicles.
  • You will help runner and walkers document their accomplishment by taking group photos at the photo backdrop with their phones.
  • Help with handing out snacks and drinks
  • Help out at sensory station
  • Volunteers will be stationed along the course to hand out bottled water as needed to 5k runners.

When: 6:15 a.m. - 12 p.m  CT

  • All volunteers will be asked to help with event set up (starting at 6 a.m.) and post event tear down.  Please sign up to volunteer at the station that you would most prefer to work during the event. 

  • Multiple volunteer registrations are allowed.  This includes 5k Packet Prep and Packet Pickup along with an event day station. 

  • We will be having a short informational training on Monday, September 9th, 2024 at 6:00 pm via Zoom.  Please make every effort to attend this training so that event day goes as smoothly as possible.  (A Zoom link will be included in your confirmation and reminder emails)

  • Volunteers registered by August 22, 2024 will receive a free event t-shirt!

  • Volunteer opportunities include:
  • 5k Packet prep - Sept 14th at 10am at our office
  • 5k Packet Pickup - September 20th at our office
