Join us for a Somatic Dance at Faeker's Theatre:
When: Thursday, May 8 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. CT
Where: event location will be sent via email upon registration
Join us for a relaxed, sensory-friendly dance gathering where you can move, stim, sway, or simply hang out—whatever feels good to you! We'll start with a short, playful movement workshop to help everyone get comfortable in the space, then break into freeform dancing where you’re free to move (or not move) in any way that feels right.
The music will be low-stimulation and designed with sensory sensitivities in mind. Whether you’re dancing, stretching, spinning, tapping your fingers, or just vibing from your seat, there’s no wrong way to join in. We'll also have some tasty snacks.
This event is open to everyone, no matter your mobility needs or energy level. Hearing protection will be available, and there's space to relax if you just want to soak in the atmosphere. Come dance, move, or simply be — at your own pace, in your own way!
Our instructors for this event are Awno Ka and Bridget McLemore. Awno Ka is a facilitator of safe spaces that focus on using the power of dance to assist individuals in their quest for emotional well-being. Bridget McLemore teaches and facilitates embodiment practices, movement improvisation, and healing through dance.
