Join AutismTN for a Spectrum Chat: Being Queer and Autistic, a Pride Month panel discussion exploring the intersection of LGBTQIA+ identities and neurodivergence.

When: Wednesday, June 18, 2025

Time: 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. CT

Queer and Autistic identities often overlap, but this intersection is still frequently left out of "mainstream" conversations about autism. Research shows Autistic folks are more likely to identify as LGBTQIA+, and many Queer communities include a large number of Autistic people. For many Autistic people, exploring gender and sexuality is part of learning who they are in a neuronormative world that often pushes people to think, feel, and be a certain way. Panelists will explore what it’s like to be both Autistic and Queer and the ongoing work to create inclusive, affirming, and truly welcoming spaces.

This program is funded in part by a grant from Humanities Tennessee, an independent affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
