Spectrum Chats: Unemployment in a Pandemic is a discussion focused on autistic adults experiencing job transition or unemployment due to COVID-19. Towards the end of the evening, there will be an opportunity to share how unemployment and uncertainty affects us during this time.

We encourage caregivers, parents, or individuals who are personally experiencing COVID-related unemployment to join this conversation.

Moderator:

Kathleen Ferrelli, MS, CCC-SLP

Kathleen is originally from the eastern shore of Fairhope, Alabama. She has a bachelor's degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Alabama and a master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Georgia Southern University. Kathleen has spent the last two years as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Williamson County Schools and at the Tennessee Rehabilitation Center. She connected with Autism Tennessee in the fall of 2019 as a facilitator for the Autism Tennessee Connect Group. Kathleen currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with her husband and new puppy, Henry.


Workshop Goals:

Participants will learn more about current unemployment rates and statistics; tips for coping with unemployment; and resources on where to look for current job openings.
