In this in-person ACE'ing The Spectrum, we focus on demonstrating de-escalation strategies tailored for families and caregivers working with a loved one experiencing moderate to severe behavior challenges. The techniques shared aim to assist caregivers in minimizing escalating or crisis situations. To ensure the quality of interaction and respect for everyone's time and energy, registration for this training is restricted to 20 participants.

Presenter

Kim Rush King, Ed.S, LPC-MHSP
Statewide CIT Director for NAMI TN and Project Director Mid-Cumberland CIT
Kim has been employed in the behavioral field for over 30 years. Mrs Rush King 
earned her B.A in Psychology, a Master’s in Counseling, and an Ed.S. in Administration and Supervision. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP). Mrs. Rush King is certified instructor for Question, Persuade and Refer ( QPR) Suicide Prevention, Postvention Suicide as well as Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST) as well as Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD) and Crisis Intervention Team (CIT).

Mrs. Rush King is currently employed with National Alliance of Mentally Ill (NAMI) TN. She is the Statewide CIT Director as well as Project Director for a federally funded grant by DOJ, which focuses on an 8-county region and helping develop and implement CIT. Furthermore, she is working with departments outside of the 8 counties with the purpose of developing their CIT team for the county and establishing partnerships with community agencies and law enforcement.
